ESTA stands for Electronic System for Travel Authorization and
it is provided under Visa Waiver Program (VWP) of the US government. Travelers
from countries participating in VWP need not going through the formal visa process

authorization within an hour. Your present visa will stand cancelled as you’ll
have new travel authorization valid for two years from date of issuance.
Do I need giving a valid reason for renewing my visa?
There is no need to mentioning any reason for ESTA visa renewal on the form. And
there is no column for giving any reason on why you want to renew your visa
when it is still valid. The authorities will consider your application as new
and issue a new visa. You’ll receive a message "A valid, approved
application with more than 30 days remaining has been found for this passport.
Submitting this application will require payment for this application and will
then cancel the existing application" from the authorities regarding your
present application.

application and issue electronic visa. Your present visa will be cancelled with
issuance of new visa for two years. And when the new visa comes close to its
expiry, you can again request for renewal following the online process of
submitting your visa application online.
